My name is Myra Goenka, and I've recently partnered with Saamarthya Foundation to initiate a campaign. Our aim is simple yet profound: to break barriers, ensuring inclusive education and empowerment for children in India dealing with Autism and Intellectual Developmental Disorders (IDD). According to a UNESCO study, over 72% of the 5 million children (0-14 years old) in India live in rural areas and struggle to find an enriching environment and access quality and affordable special education. Often, parents travel for hours to major cities to contact trained therapists, yet often families are unable to recognize, consult and diagnose their children in time. This, coupled with the immense stigma and lack of awareness leads to many of these children missing the crucial early intervention window to managing their disabilities.

The Need:
We are launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for our scholarship program, aimed at providing 1:1 intervention sessions for over 250+ intervention sessions. These sessions, meticulously coordinated with special educators and occupational therapists, focus on executive functioning skills, cognitive and motor skills, play and social skills, language skills, and more.
