My name is Ahana Vaitla, and I am a Grade 11 student at the International School of Hyderabad.
I first discovered Project Annapurna while searching for a meaningful CAS project. When I learned about the work they were doing to support women and children living in tribal communities, I felt immediately drawn to it.
Since I was very young, I have always believed in giving. I remember going to a store with my mother and receiving two chocolates. I would often give one to a girl begging outside. It didn’t make me feel superior — it simply made me happy to share something small that could brighten someone else’s day.
Seeing children my age struggle to access even the most basic necessities stayed with me. That is why supporting Project Annapurna felt like the right choice.
Six-year-old Ahana would be proud that I chose to help.
Malnutrition continues to affect millions of women and children across India.
In rural regions of Telangana:
• 58.9% of women suffer from malnutrition
• 33% of children face nutritional deficiencies
For families living in tribal belts around Hyderabad, consistent access to nutritious food is not always guaranteed.
Pregnant women, new mothers, and young children are especially vulnerable. Without regular nutrition, children face developmental challenges and mothers face increased health risks.
Project Annapurna runs a community nutrition program in collaboration with Samaritans for the Nation serving tribal communities and low-income areas near Hyderabad.
Meals are prepared using nutritious ingredients and distributed regularly by a local team that has built strong relationships within the communities.
What makes this program special is not just the food — it is the consistency and trust built over time between volunteers and the families they support.
This campaign aims to raise ₹32,389 to support the next month of food distribution through Project Annapurna.
The funds will help purchase groceries used to prepare nutritious meals, including:
• Rice
• Wheat flour
• Eggs
• Nutrition powder
These meals help ensure that women and children receive the nutrients they need to stay healthy.

Food security is one of the most basic human needs.
When children and mothers receive consistent nutrition, it improves health, education outcomes, and overall wellbeing.
Through Project Annapurna, this support reaches families who might otherwise be left without it.
This campaign is hosted on Udayaa Impact Foundation, a registered Section 8 nonprofit in India supporting student-led social impact initiatives.
