How we’ll use this fund
Provide year-round ultrasound access for pregnant tribal women: Fund monthly gynecology consultant support so expectant mothers receive essential scans throughout the year. Identify high-risk pregnancies early: Enable timely detection and referral for complications before emergencies arise. Strengthen maternal healthcare in a remote region: Support consistent antenatal services in Konta Block, where nearly 80% of pregnant women are from tribal communities. Protect mothers and newborns: Back a preventive, year-long care model that reduces maternal and neonatal health risks through continuity.

Campaign Story

We are the Social Justice Club at the International School of Hyderabad, and through this campaign we are supporting a critical maternal health initiative led by Samaritans for the Nation in the Konta Block of Chhattisgarh.

In this region, nearly 80% of pregnant women belong to tribal families. Due to distance, poverty, and the lack of specialist care, many pregnancies go unmonitored. For expectant mothers in these remote areas, access to basic diagnostic services like ultrasound scans is limited, despite being essential for identifying high-risk pregnancies and preventing complications.

Under India’s Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA), antenatal services are offered once a month. However, the absence of a regular gynecology consultant for ultrasound services has created a persistent gap in effective maternal care.

This campaign aims to close that gap — not for a single month, but for an entire year.

The Problem

Without consistent access to ultrasound services:

  • High-risk pregnancies often go undetected

  • Complications are identified too late

  • Maternal and neonatal health risks increase

For women in tribal regions like Konta Block, the lack of specialist diagnostic support can mean the difference between early intervention and emergency care.

Our Solution

This campaign supports one full year of monthly gynecology consultation and ultrasound services at CHC Konta, aligned with PMSMA service days.

By ensuring consistent access throughout the year, this initiative enables:

  • Regular ultrasound screening for pregnant women

  • Early identification of high-risk pregnancies

  • Timely referrals for complicated maternal cases

  • Stronger implementation of government maternal health programs

Continuity matters. Maternal health outcomes improve when care is reliable, predictable, and available when women need it most.

What This Campaign Supports

This campaign raises ₹1,54,800 to fund one year of gynecology consultant support for ultrasound services at CHC Konta.

Over the course of the year, this support will help:

  • 500+ pregnant women receive timely ultrasound scans

  • Reduce preventable maternal and neonatal complications

  • Strengthen trust in public healthcare services in a remote tribal region

This campaign is not about a single scan or a one-time intervention.
It’s about ensuring safe pregnancies, early detection, and continuity of care for tribal mothers who are too often left without access.
